Ludhiana, October 18, 2015: A special general body meeting of the Offset Printers Association was held today at the office of OPA at South City, Ludhiana to felicitate Mr.Kamal Chopra on being elected as the Vice President (North) of the All India Federation of Master Printers (AIFMP).  Printers from Jalandhar also participated in this meeting. 
Giving brief introduction about the felicitations Mr.Ganagdeep Singh, master of the ceremony said Mr.Kamal Chopra needs no introduction he is the most competitive person not only in this region but throughout the country. Born on 22 October, 1948 Mr.Kamal Chopra is a Gold Medallist from the Printing Institute, Allahabad. He served the Punjab Agricultural University as Press Manager till February 1996. The life of Mr. Kamal Chopra has been full of awards, right from the institute level itself, he was recipient of merit scholarship during his studies at Institute of Printing Allahabad and was awarded Gold Medal in the year 1969 for being the best student of the year. Medal was also awarded to him by Monotype Corporation U.K. for being best student on Monotype Keyboard. The President of India conferred National Award for excellence in Designing in the year 1980. In the year 1997 he was nominated for Udyog Rattan Award by Institute of Economic Studies which was presented by the speaker of Lok Sabha in New Delhi. He was also declared ‘Man of Achievement’ in the year 1999 by the International Publishing House and awarded him plaque for his highly commendable services and most meritorious performance as the leading and most quality conscious printer. He is recipient of Prof. Puran Singh Dhami Award for the year 2008-09 in the field of Communication, Printing and Print Education. Global Print Leadership Award was presented to him in 2013 at Chicago USA by NPES. Indian Solidarity Council also awarded him ‘Man of Excellence’ award in the year 2013.
Mr. Chopra is member of Academic Council of the G J University of Science & Technology, Hisar. His contribution- the unique 13 page calendar offering a complete history of Printing that goes back to over 100,000 years was appreciated world over. He received appreciation letters from the President Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam and the then Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. He was also felicitated at Birmingham (UK) in the year 2006 by the BUMPSA for this achievement. Considering its importance as a valuable article and a huge contribution to the history of printing this calendar found place in the Printing History Museum in Beijing, China. 
Appreciating the working of Kamal Chopra, Mr. Parveen Aggarwal, President OPA said, till date name of Kamal Chopra was known in the Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Punjab or North circle but now his name and working is known all over India and overseas also. Now his responsibilities and area of working is also increased and I wish him good health so that we can take the benefit of his vision and working for the progress of printing. 
Speaking on the occasion Mr. B S Nagi, Direcotr MSME, Govt. of India said, he found Mr. Chopra as the most dedicated and innovative personality, I am in touch with him for the last 14 years and I found him always looking for the benefit for all, I have never seen him working for any personal gains. 
Mr. Om Prakash Mahajan, Vice President Jalandhar Printers Association said, it is a proudest moment for the printing industry especially for Printing industry of Punjab that we have such a visionary many amongst us. I was present at the election meeting and have seen how the printers from all over India love him, he got record number of votes only because he is dedicated and an industrious person. I admire him because he is a hard working and devoted person though some person says I am his follower, but I would like to say I am follower of any person who work for the society without any of his personal gains. 
Mr. Parvesh Jagga said, he is not Kamal Chopra but Kaamaal Chopra he has novel idea and when implemented proved to be result oriented. With his vision he has created networking between the printers not at national but international level, I will say that he is ‘Networking man of Printing industry’. Mr. Rajnish Manooja, Mr. R L Kapoor and Mr. Rajvir also appreciated the working of Mr. Kamal Chopra.
