Efforts on to complete covering of Ganda Nullah in Ludhiana at earliest

Ludhiana, July 18, 2016: Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori conducted a meeting with the contractor who is handling covering of Ganda Nullah project from the Gurudwara Dukhniwaran to Shagun Palace and asked him to complete the work as soon as possible. The project work has been hanging fire for the past so many years and now the contractor has been told to complete the project and there would be no shortage of funds.

The meeting took place on Monday morning in which additional commissioner Surabhi Malik, SE Pawan Sharma, XEN Rahul Gagneja, XEN Lights Balwinder Singh, area councillor Sanjay Talwar and area residents were present. The area residents were complaining about the slow pace of work on the drain due to which they were facing several problems especially in the rainy season. Every year the drain gets choked in the rainy season and filthy water enters the houses causing lots of trouble for area residents.

MCL Commissioner Thori told that contractor has been given clear directions that work should be complete at the earliest so that residents should not face more problems. Thori added that during rainy season they have already deployed additional 20 labourers on the drain for regular cleaning of drain to avoid choking.

XEN Gagneja shared that contractor has been asked to deploy additional labour to get the work done at face pace. He also shared that almost 80 percent work is complete and only 20 percent work is left on the drain side.
