Chandigarh, May 6, 2015: The Guru Kashi University Chancellor JS Dhaliwal said here today that a unique partnership, came in to existence recently, between Southern Utah University (USA), University of Lisbon’s School of Economics and Management (ISEG) and Guru Kashi University (GKU), Talwandi Sabo will create market driven innovative academic programs that will enable students to acquire professional skills and knowledge necessary for success in the 21st century. 
While interacting with media at the Chandigarh Press Club, Dhaliwal said The MBA & Master of Science in Management of Information Systems is designed for students who want to obtain a deep understanding of both information systems and business. The MBA program is designed to advance the knowledge and practice of business and administration and the MIS portion is designed to prepare graduates with a broad-based knowledge of information system design, development, implementation, evaluation, and analysis, he added. Mr. Dhaliwal said this program will provide students with the needed skills, knowledge and experience for both business analysts and information system specialists that are in demand in the market.
The Chancellor said Guru Kashi University students will get an opportunity to study at the University of Lisbon in Protugal and at the Paris (France) and Utah (USA) campus of Southern Utah University. Graduates of the program will learn skills to meet challenges and opportunities created by rapidly evolving globally integrated businesses, he said.
He said that ISEG and GKU have also announced a new merit-based academic scholarship program that will award several scholarships to deserving students which will help them towards reduced tuition fees. 
Mr. Dhaliwal said, “Even the general students of the Guru Kashi University will be highly benefitted from the knowledge, expertise and skills to be shared by our new partners, the Southern Utah University (USA) and Lisbon’s School of Economics and Management. Our partnership represents the start of our collaborative efforts focused on strengthening the global workforce for the critical field of information systems.” 
He said that the School of Business at Southern Utah University offers an experiential learning environment that combines theory and practice, and is designed to prepare students to become fully engaged, productive and ethical members of the business community and society. "We are looking forward to an exciting engagement, which will foster a global collaboration and cutting edge business opportunities", he added. 
The Chancellor said “This agreement once again demonstrates Guru Kashi University’s commitment of offering career-oriented academic programs to meet the needs of the industry and community, both locally and internationally. It will allow our students to gain knowledge, skills and international exposure from one of the top universities in the world.”
Dr. N.S. Malhi, Vice-Chancellor, GKU, Talwandi Sabo and Er. Sukhwinder Singh, General Secretary, the trust managing the GKU, Prof. Ashwani Sethi Deputy Director and Dr. G.S. Brar (Program coordinator) was also present on the occasion. Gurlabh Singh Sidhu, Chairman congratulated representatives of all the three universities regarding the initiation of this dual degree program. This will definitely fulfill the needs of today’s corporate and public sector, he added. Prof. Sukhdevinder Singh Kaurra, Public Relations Officer GKU compared the whole programme.
