Dharamsala, August 17, 2014: After a weeklong widespread heavy rains in the state ,Himachal had a little break as there was only traces of rain in state except few places like Dalhousie on Saturday.
Sun made a welcome come out even on Sunday morning giving some respite from destructive rains in Himachal, which caused much damage to roads and washing away of few bridges too and even disrupting drinking water supply schemes in many places due to landslides. Massive boulders coming off mountain slopes and landing on roads led to blockades at several places. Heavy rains during past few days in the middle hills continue to increase the inflows into several dams across Beas and Sutlej River too. Traffic on National Highway from Pathankot to Mandi and Kangra to Hoshiarpur was cleared for traffic late on Saturday, which was blocked eelier at several places bringing long queues of tourist vehicles heading towards hill stations of Dharamsala, Dalhousie and Manali.
A met office morning report stated rain recorded over the last 24 hours was  at  Saluni as 34mm, Bhandal & Dalhousie-18mm, Kalatop-14mm, Kandaghat-13mm,Ramsahar-11mm, Bilaspur-10mm, Chamba-9mm, JubbarHatti-7mm, Sujanpur Tira, Bijahi & Ghamroor -5 mm each and Kasauli-4mm. This seems to be much lesser to what Himachal had last week.
Met office however predicts Light to Moderate rain at isolated places in the coming week too.
