Dr. Parmjeet Kaur Sidhu Assumes Charge as Head of Punjabi Department at Panjab University

Chandigarh, April 30 2026: Dr. Parmjeet Kaur Sidhu, Associate Professor in the School of Punjabi Studies, today assumed charge as Head of Punjabi Department at Panjab University as per the orders of PU Vice Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig.
Dr. Sidhu took charge in the presence of faculty members from the Languages Faculty. On this occasion, faculty members extended their congratulations to Dr. Sidhu and conveyed their best wishes for her new responsibility. Retired teachers of the department were also present and offered their best wishes. Dr. Sidhu thanked all the teachers who had gathered to congratulate her and extend their good wishes.
Dr. Sidhu has previously served as the Head of the Punjabi Department at Kurukshetra University. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sidhu expressed her gratitude to Vice Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig for entrusting her with this responsibility. She stated that she would carry out her duties with full dedication and sincerity and emphasised her commitment to carrying forward the rich and distinguished legacy of the Punjabi Department established by her predecessors.
Dr. Sidhu also highlighted that she would work collaboratively with her colleagues, many of whom have been her teachers and remain consistently devoted to the progress and betterment of the department.
