Ludhiana, January 2, 2026: The Department of Nephrology, DMC&H  hosted a CME on “PD CONCLAVE 2025 – Learn from Experts”, focusing on Peritoneal Dialysis (PD). The academic event was organized under the able guidance of Dr Vikas Makkar, Professor & Head, Department of Nephrology, DMC&H, and was efficiently coordinated by Dr Simran Kaur, Associate Professor, Dr Tanish Dhir, Assistant Professor, Senior Residents and Nursing staff of Nephrology Department. The conclave aimed to enhance awareness, knowledge, and practical understanding of Peritoneal Dialysis among medical professionals.
The CME was formally inaugurated by Mukesh Verma, Treasurer, DMC&H Managing Society along with Dr G.S. Wander, Principal, DMC&H; Dr Sandeep Kaushal, Dean Academics; and Dr Pritpal Singh, Member PMC.
In his message, Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society, lauded the efforts of Department of Nephrology for taking the lead in organizing high-quality academic activities. He highlighted that CMEs like PD Conclave 2025 play a crucial role in updating clinicians with evolving treatment modalities, in chronic kidney disease management.
Mukesh Verma, Treasurer, DMC&H Managing Society, congratulated the Department of Nephrology for organizing this CME.
Addressing the gathering, Dr G.S. Wander, Principal, DMC&H stated that CME as highly valuable and academically enriching. He stated that the lectures and deliberations by eminent nephrologists provided meaningful insights and had a significant impact on young doctors and postgraduate trainees. Dr Wander emphasized that continuous medical education is essential in keeping pace with rapidly advancing medical science and added that the integration of latest technologies has greatly enhanced diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities in the modern era of medicine.
The conclave witnessed a series of insightful lectures delivered by expert nephrologists from various hospitals across the country. The speakers elaborated on multiple aspects of Peritoneal Dialysis, including its benefits, clinical outcomes, patient selection, and challenges in the Indian context. Special emphasis was laid on strategies to reduce the overall cost of treatment, thereby making Peritoneal Dialysis more accessible and affordable for patients.
The CME concluded with an engaging panel discussion session, during which experts shared real-world insights and addressed practical challenges raised by the participants, making the interaction highly informative and enriching. This allowed delegates to interact directly with the panelists and clarify their clinical and practical concerns.Four credit hours were allotted by PMC.
