‘Dream Big, Innovate, Create’: MDU VC Prof. Milap Punia’s mantra for future nation-builders

Rohtak, August 25, 2026: Study, Research, Innovate & Create to forge the Nation of your Dreams. The New India, the Viksit Bharat@2047 will be created by the efforts of the present day students. The Future belongs to the Youth. Utilize each and every moment of your time spent in the University to prepare yourself comprehensively for the future. Terming the students as Future Leaders, Future Nation Builders, MDU Vice Chancellor Prof. Milap Punia in his address to the newly-admitted Under-graduate students of the varsity gave a clarion call: "Do not wait for the future to happen to you. Create it."
Newly admitted students will play a key role in laying the foundation of a developed India by 2047, MDU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Milap Punia said on Tuesday.
Addressing UG students at an orientation programme, Prof. Punia urged them to follow the mantra “Study, Innovate, Create and Be a Future Leader” and develop the skills needed to contribute to nation-building.
“Success is not achieved through talent alone. Discipline, hard work, positive thinking and good health are equally important,” he said, urging students to learn from the past, remain active in the present and work with a clear vision for the future.
Prof. P.K. Joshi, professor at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, cited the lives of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, Dr CV Raman and Swami Vivekananda to inspire students to dream big and overcome challenges through knowledge, hard work and determination. He advised them to look beyond degrees and focus on scientific thinking, innovation and creating solutions for society.
Retired IAF Wing Commander and motivational speaker Geetanjali Singh gave students the mantra “Dream, Dare, Discover and Become” and urged them not to give up in the face of failure. “When the world says it cannot be done, tell yourself- one more attempt,” she said.
Prof. Surender Kumar, Director, Centre for Indian Knowledge System, highlighted the life and contribution of Swami Dayanand Saraswati and called upon students to uphold the values of truth, education and social reform.
Dean Students’ Welfare Prof. Sapna Garg welcomed the students, while Dean Academic Affairs Prof. A.S. Maan spoke about the university’s growth journey. Registrar Prof. Sandeep Bansal proposed the vote of thanks.
Prof. A.S. Maan, who is superannuating this month, was also felicitated for his contribution to the university. Director, CCPC Prof. Divya Malhan and Director, PR Sunit Mukherjee conducted the stage. Deans, directors, faculty members and newly admitted students attended the programme.
