Rohtak, August 4, 2025: Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLC SUPVA), Rohtak, is all set to welcome the new batch of students for the academic session 2025–26 with a special Induction Programme to be held on 5th August 2025 at the varsity's Mini Auditorium.
This programme holds special significance as, for the first time, some of the country’s most respected media personalities and cultural figures will address the freshers. The event will feature senior journalists Sumit Awasthi and Sandeep Chaudhary, as well as eminent filmmaker Atul Gangwar and media professional and commentator Harsh Vardhan. The idea is to offer students exposure to real-world narratives, professional ethics, and creative journeys right at the start of their academic experience.
Vice-Chancellor Dr. Amit Arya, himself a veteran journalist, has taken the initiative to bring these figures to campus. Speaking ahead of the event, he said, “At DLC SUPVA, we believe that inspiration must walk into the classroom before textbooks do. Inviting public intellectuals and practitioners to speak directly to our students reflects our commitment to a grounded, practice-oriented education in the creative fields.”
Preparations for the event are in full swing under the supervision of Registrar Dr. Gunjan Malik, who is personally overseeing the logistics and coordination. She said, “Our induction is not just a formal beginning—it’s the cultural handshake between the university and its students. We want them to feel welcomed, empowered, and connected to the larger creative and professional world from day one.”
The day-long programme includes an exhibition of visual arts, student film screenings, addresses by the guests and university leadership, and contemporary musical performances by the students of Film & TV. A Hawan ceremony will be held on 6th August in the open courtyard of the FTV Building, marking an auspicious start for the new academic year.
DLC SUPVA, a state university established under Haryana Act No. 24 of 2014, is a pioneering institution dedicated exclusively to education in the performing and visual arts. It continues to rise as a hub of artistic excellence and innovation in northern India.
