As many as 10 speakers from different disciplines shared their experiences and life stories with the audience at the TEDx Dikshant School (Independently Organised TED event) at Punjab Kala Bhawan, Sector 16, Chandigarh, today.

Chandigarh, Oct 15, 2022: As many as 10 speakers from different disciplines shared their experiences and life stories with the audience at the TEDx Dikshant School (Independently Organised TED event) at Punjab Kala Bhawan, Sector 16, Chandigarh, today.

The line up of speakers was from different genres. Yogita Bhayana, an Anti-Rape Activist; Anmol Ahuja, Casting Director ; Babar Ali, Social Entrepreneur; Megha Parmar, Moutaineer ; Ugesh Sarcar, Magician; Manjari Chaturvedi, Classical Dancer; Anvesha Mongia, President HOPE Club, Dikshant School; Prof. Rohan Dutta, Associate Professor for the B. Tech. program at the Anant School of Climate Action ; Sidhivinayak Singh, Subaltern Historian and Dr. Himanshu Bajpai, Dastango.

The prestigious event was divided into three slots where the distinguished speakers delivered a talk of 18 minutes each.

 Giving details about the event Mr. Mitul Dikshit, Chairman, Adab Foundation and Dikshant Schools said, “The TEDx platform is one of the most sought-after platforms across the globe. It is our honour to host stalwarts from academia, sports and other diverse sectors of the society. We are committed to provide platforms to the youngsters to give them a compelling career ahead and such events boost the students' morale."

The event kick started with a special song performance ‘Aasha Ke Deep Hum Jalayenge’, that was presented by the students of the Dikshant School.

Babar Ali, an Educationist who started a school named ‘Anand Shiksha Niketan’ when he was just nine in West Bengal, appealed to the student listeners to be honest, focused and avoid selfishness and jealousy to achieve their goals in life.

Dr. Himanshu Bajpai, leading Dastango, during his talk said, “Whatever you do in life, do it wholeheartedly. Get engrossed, give your best and it will surely become successful. It might not give instant results, but before losing patience always remember that good things do take their own time.”

Magician Ugesh Sarcar during his conversation said “It is important for everyone to realise the purpose of their life. Once you have a destination, make an aim, choose the path and you are already half way through.”

After giving an appealing kathak performance, Sufi Kathak dancer Manjri Chaturvedi advocated the need to respecting the dance form. “We have to stop following patriarchy, stop referring Tawaif or Bai & mujra as an abuse. They must be respected as artistes.”

Young student Anvesha Mongia, during her talk, shared the data which revealed how accessibility remains a distant dream for the differently abled and how it remains a challenge in a country that got freedom more than 7 decades ago.

Born in Kanpur, Social Activist & rapper Sidhivinayak Singh spoke about how Hindi chapter ‘Premchand ke Fatey Joote’ changed his life. He shared that despite facing rejection in school, how he looked for other ways to keep moving forward.

Casting director Anmol Ahuja’s professional journey commenced with 3 Ps in life - Passion, Patience & Perseverance. “One must work for the joy of work and he/she must be honest in pursuing his/her aim. It is ok to accept what is working and it is totally ok to accept what is not working and making the right choice,” he concludes.

Other speakers, including Prof Rohan Dua, Anti-Rape activist Yogita Bhayana and Mountaineer Megha Parmar, who shared how their professional & personal experiences of life turned them into a better and more confident human beings. In addition to the inspiring song and talks by the speakers, another performance that overwhelmed the audience was the Orchestral Astral. An amalgamation of Indo-western fusion (jugalbandi) of Saarangi and Guitar.
