DCJ Cricket Championship held at Doaba College

Jalandhar, April 29, 2022: Doaba College Jalandhar organized DCJ Cricket Championship-2022 (Season 1) exclusively for the students of Doaba College Jalandhar from 05-04-2022 to 11-04-2022. DCJ Cricket Championship was organized separately for boys and girls with six-a-side knockout format in two grounds of Doaba College.  Total 28 boys and 03 girls teams participated, and 28 matches played in this championship. All the teams played excellently well and no one was being able to mark out till the end that who would win definitely. 

All the matches drew a big enthusiastic crowd. After very close matches(boys)  Commerce Cricket Club, Local Boys Cricket Club, Doaba Fighters Cricket Club and BCC confirmed their place in the semi-finals. In the first semi-final Commerce Club beat Local Boys by 6 wickets in rare one-sided match, in the second semi-final Doaba Fighters beat BCC by 11 runs in a nail biting last over thriller. 

In the final Doaba Fighters Cricket Club beat Commerce Cricket Club by 28 runs. Manpreet Singh scored quick 70 runs for Doaba Fighters Cricket Club and elected player of the match in final. Ram of Commerce Cricket Club elected as player of the tournament for his all-round performance with bat & ball. 

Chander Mohan, President, Doaba College Managing Committee was the chief guest in the final match, he motivated the students to reach the sky with their persistent efforts. He gave various examples of IPL players who have struggled hard and achieved heights. 

Dr. Pardeep Bhandari, Principal, Doaba College Jalandhar congratulated winner and runner-up teams and awarded them with attractive trophies and cash prizes. Dr. Pardeep Bhandari, Principal also congratulated organizing committee of DCJ Cricket Championship for making this championship a grand success. 

All the organizing committee members including Dr Ominder Johal, Dr. Vinay Girotra, Dr. Ashwani Kumar, Prof. Gulshan Sharma, Prof. Ranjit Singh, Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Dr. Narinder Kumar, Dr. Nirmal Singh, Dr. Opinder Singh, Dr. Jaswinder Singh, Prof. Sumit Sehgal, Prof. Jaspreet Badhan, Prof., Gursimran Singh performed their duties exceptionally well.
