Rohtak, April 27, 2026: In a focused push to strengthen urban water supply infrastructure, the District Administration, Rohtak, has expedited key projects aimed at ensuring adequate and safe drinking water across the city.

Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta conducted on-site inspections of the newly constructed booster station at Rainakpura and the under-construction booster at Salara Mohalla, directing officials to fast-track completion and operational readiness.

Rainakpura Booster to be Made Functional at the Earliest

* Constructed at a cost of ₹2 crore
* Connected pipeline network nearing completion
* Officials directed to make the booster operational immediately

Once commissioned, the booster will significantly improve water availability in Rainakpura and adjoining areas.

Salara Mohalla Booster Work to be Accelerated

* Under construction at a cost of ₹1.80 crore
* Target completion: August 2026
* Officials and contractor directed to increase pace of work

The project will benefit residents of Salara Mohalla, Pada Mohalla, and Ram Johri areas, ensuring improved water supply coverage.

City-Wide Strengthening of Water Infrastructure

The Deputy Commissioner reiterated that the administration is committed to ensuring reliable, clean, and sufficient drinking water supply, and highlighted key ongoing initiatives:

* Five water works operational across the city (including IDC water works under trial)
* 22 boosting stations functioning to maintain supply pressure
* ₹16.5 crore project for laying ~45 km of drinking water pipelines
* Replacement of damaged pipelines and expansion of network

Major Capacity Augmentation Projects

* Construction of a new water storage structure worth ₹27 crore
* Additional storage capacity of approximately 2.5 days
* Replacement of open channel with 4.5 km, 900 mm pipeline for efficient water transmission

Long-Term Water Security Planning

* Proposal sent for 15.5 acres water storage facility at Bohar village
* Additional proposal for 15 acres water storage near Tilyar Lake

These measures aim to enhance long-term sustainability and resilience of the city’s water supply system.

“Timely completion and operationalisation of water infrastructure is critical. Every project must translate into tangible benefit for citizens without delay,” he added.

The administration continues to prioritise efficient service delivery, infrastructure strengthening, and proactive planning to ensure uninterrupted water supply across all areas.
