DAV College Succeeds In Getting Status Of "College With Potential For Excellence"

Jalandhar, April 22, 2016: DAV College, Jalandhar succeeds in getting status of "College with Potential for Excellence". DAV College has added one more achievement to its long list of awards and fame. the status for "Award of College with Potential for Excellence" has been provided by University Grants Commission. It has granted such status on the recommendation of expert committee and C.PE states. The college is going to complete its 100 years after 2 years and the status has made the environment more cheerful and joyous. This is not just an award but a proof that DAV College excels not in studies only but also sports and other co curricular activities. For C.P.E presentation, the college had made a committee which was presided over by revered Principal Dr.B.B.Sharma, Vice Principal and coordinator C.P.E Prof.Vijay Kumar Sareen, Prof T D Saini HOD Physics, Dr. Rajeev Sharma of Chemistry department, Prof. Sonika of English department, Dr. Dinesh of political science department, Prof Deepak Wadhawan of Zoology departmentetc , as its members. This committee presented a PPT presentation to the university grants commission which included an interactive session too. The event where this award was presented was attended by various colleges across the country where they all presented their PPT’S.
DAV College Jalandhar has been working hard to improve the quality of teaching processes and reinstate research works. For this UGC is running a scheme to coin out the college with potential excellence, and the proposals for which were invited by them till Feb 15, 2016. 8 University collaborated colleges were chosen and DAV was honored with the great award and status. Principal Dr B B Sharma told that this status has been provided to DAV College Jalandhar for tenure of 5 years for their exemplary contributions in the field of education and their achievements .He further quoted college provides and maintains high standard of educational quality being imparted. College has many such programs which are student centric and enhance their educational ability and learning capabilities .College is rich with great faculty , which impart life mantras and education to the students and we strive to make our kids intelligent , curious , challenging , hardworking , research oriented and productive .At this glorious achievement Principal Dr BB Sharma ,Vice Principal Prof Vijay Gupta, Vice Principal Prof V K Sareen , Registrar Prof A K Bhardwaj and entire faculty congratulated each other with joy .
Vice Principal Prof Vijay Gupta said "with this achievement, the status of the college and pride of this institution has enhanced manifold and has even left a source of inspiration for our teachers to work with the same. Passion they have been working with”. On receiving the Award Principal Dr B B Sharma quoted with immense pleasure “the dreams which are seen with naked eyes are always fulfilled. It’s a matter of immense joy glory and pride for all of us to receive this award and this is the result of the hard work of all the people connected with this DAV College Jalandhar, their prestigious performance and great deeds and dedication have made us win this award. This award is like getting Padma Bhushan award “The present era has altered the scenario of education. Now the imparting of education is more research oriented and more practical oriented. The IAS, PCS, SSC qualifications are being done at the college level itself. Dr Sharma added, DAV College in order to reinstate innovativeness, we inspire more research work. We ought to make our students more practical and not just success oriented so as to make them capable enough of handling the dire competitive stress. At end Principal said, we work hard to make out students more stern in life, creative and ethical and develop them overall in all aspects and also sharpen their personality and morals ethical values so as to make them a practical person in life.
Vice Principal Prof V K Sareen while revealing his happiness quoted “this award is not just our award but the award of entire college faculty, the 7200 students - their hard work, commitment and dedication brought us these laurels. This award is given in appreciation of the great heights DAV has achieved in the field of education, sports and co-curricular activities. I feel immensely happy and I am pretty sure that in the times to come our DAV College Jalandhar will attain much more heights in the field of research work, collective reconditions, workshop, constructive talks with students which would enhance the learning skills of the students and lead to their overall development”
