Date extended for resumed Improvement Trust properties to April 30: Anil Joshi

Chandigarh, April 8, 2015: Punjab Local Bodies Department today extended the last date upto April 30,2015 to deposit due pending instalments with required interest & restoration charges for restoration of properties resumed by various Improvement Trusts in the state after 25.11.13 where due instalments etc. had not been paid in time.

Disclosing this here today Anil Joshi, Local Bodies Minister said that the allottees, who have failed to deposit instalments towards the cost of their properties fallen in the ambit of Improvement Trusts could now deposit the amount upto April 30, 2015.

He said that the department of Local Govt had earlier floated a special one time scheme for restoration of properties resumed by various Improvement Trusts in the state after 25.11.13 where due instalments etc. had not been paid in time. The allottees were allowed to deposit due pending instalments with required interest & restoration charges etc. upto 31.3.15 at the level of their respective Trusts and get their resumed properties restored. With this special drive, the department has been able to get Rs. 12 crore from the allottees. There has been a very positive response from the general public and requests were there to extend this scheme so that more and more people could avail the benefits of this scheme and were saved from the hassles of attending appeals at Chandigarh time and again. Disclosing this here today, Mr. Anil Joshi has said that in the larger interest of the general public, this scheme has been extended upto 30.4.15 with the hope that more and more people could avail benefits.
