University School of Open Learning (USOL), Panjab University, Chandigarh, organized a scintillating annual cultural event ‘Hunar’ today in its auditorium for the distance learners today.

Chandigarh, March 17, 2023: University School of Open Learning (USOL), Panjab University, Chandigarh, organized a scintillating annual cultural event ‘Hunar’ today in its auditorium for the distance learners today. Striving to be in parity with the regular mode of imparting education and other co-curricular activities as sports meet, alumni meet, prize-giving function, convocation and many more such events, the hunar involved its students in a string of cultura and aesthetic activities as poetry recitation, extempore speech,singing, dance, mimcry, photography, rangoli, mehndi, best out of waste, coortooning, poster-making, collage-making. As many as 50 students participated in different events. 

Prof Neeru, Chairperson USOL, gave a formal welcome to the dignitaries and participants and exhorted the morale of the participants and foregrounded the commitment of the USOL to make education accessible to the marginalized and deprived. 

As the chief guests, Prof Jitender Grover Dean Students’ Welfare (men) and Prof.Promila Pathak (women) graced the occasion. The cultural committee including Dr Purva Mishra, Dr Sucha Singh, Dr Kamla, Dr Reena and Dr Richa put their best to make the event successful. 

In her address, Prof Malik opined that holding of such events give platforms to the students to boost their confidence and hone their talents. An ex-faculty of USOL, Prof Grover appreciated the initiative of the institution and complimented the students for their exceptional self-motivation, self-directedness and enthusiastic participation. The events were judged by the experts and the students from each category were declared as winners.
