Shivang Mishra, an MBA first-year student of CT Group, won the Gold Medal in the Music (Non-Percussion) category at the festival hosted by Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai.

The national-level youth festival witnessed participation from more than 160 universities across India. These universities had qualified through their respective zonal rounds, making the competition exceptionally intense and highly prestigious. Amidst such remarkable competition, Shivang Mishra’s outstanding musical performance earned him the top honour, bringing laurels to CT Group.

Shivang Mishra shared that his musical journey began at the young age of six under the guidance of his father, who introduced him to the rich traditions of Indian classical music. Coming from a family deeply rooted in classical music, Shivang has inherited a rich musical legacy from his grandfather, Pandit Amar Nath Mishra, who was a disciple of the legendary sitar maestro Ravi Shankar.

Hailing from Banaras, a city known for its profound musical and cultural heritage, Shivang proudly represents the seventh generation of a distinguished musical lineage. His passion for classical instrumental music has been further inspired by the renowned sitarist Purbayan Chatterjee, whose artistry motivated him to continue preserving and promoting the rich heritage of Indian classical music.

CT Group has played a significant role in nurturing Shivang’s talent by providing him with a supportive academic environment and encouraging his participation in cultural and national-level competitions. The institution regularly promotes artistic expression through cultural platforms, mentorship, and opportunities that allow students to showcase their abilities on prestigious stages across the country.

Congratulating the student on this remarkable achievement, Dr Manbir Singh, Managing Director of CT Group, said that Shivang’s success reflects the institution’s commitment to holistic development. He stated that CT Group continuously supports and nurtures students’ talents beyond academics, enabling them to excel in cultural, creative, and professional domains.

Charanjit Singh Channi, Chairman of CT Group, also congratulated Shivang Mishra and appreciated his dedication to preserving the rich traditions of Indian classical music. He remarked that such achievements highlight the immense potential of young artists and reaffirm CT Group’s commitment to encouraging creativity, culture, and excellence among its students.
