Jalandhar, October 31, 2025: Students gain hands-on experience in drone assembly, calibration, and flight operations under the mentorship of NIT experts and industry professionals.
CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur, Jalandhar, successfully organized a five-day Bootcamp on “Nextgen Drones: Technology and Applications” in collaboration with Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jalandhar. The bootcamp aimed to provide participants with in-depth technical knowledge and practical exposure to drone technology — a rapidly emerging field shaping the future of multiple industries including delivery, defence, and transportation.
The sessions covered key aspects such as drone components, aerodynamics and flight principles, data acquisition and sensor fusion, software tools, assembly, calibration, and flying demonstrations. The resource persons from NIT Jalandhar, Dr. Gurjot Kaur (Project Associate) and Prem Kumar (JRF Drone Project), along with industry experts A J Arun Jeya Prakash, Director & CEO of Aviocian Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Noida, and his associates Jaikant Namdev and Deepanshu Bhardwaj, conducted interactive sessions that blended theory with hands-on training.
Under expert guidance, students successfully assembled and flew their own drones in the campus playground, gaining invaluable practical exposure. The bootcamp witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 200 students belonging to the departments of Computer Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, CSE (Internet of Things), and Computer Applications. Each day of the event explored new dimensions of drone technology — from understanding UAV theory, components, and flight simulation to assembly, calibration, flying, and troubleshooting. The program concluded with a student feedback session and a quiz, with participants set to receive e-certificates from NIT Jalandhar.
The valedictory session witnessed the esteemed presence of Chairman CT Group S. Charanjit Singh Channi; Dr. Nitin Tandon, Executive Director and Vice Chancellor, CTU; Dr. Shiv Kumar, Director Campus; Dr. Sangram Singh, Director Academic Operations; and Dr. Vaneet Thakur, Head, Department of Academics.
