CT Group of Institutions Marks World Habitat Day 2025 in Collaboration with The Institution of Engineers (India), Ludhiana Local Centre
The Department of Architecture, CT Institute of Architecture and Planning (CTIAP), under the aegis of CT Group of Institutions, organized a special event to observe World Habitat Day 2025 on the theme “Urban Crisis” at the department seminar hall. The event aimed to create awareness about sustainable urban development and collective responsibility toward addressing emerging challenges in modern cities.

Jalandhar, October 06, 2025: The Department of Architecture, CT Institute of Architecture and Planning (CTIAP), under the aegis of CT Group of Institutions, organized a special event to observe World Habitat Day 2025 on the theme “Urban Crisis” at the department seminar hall. The event aimed to create awareness about sustainable urban development and collective responsibility toward addressing emerging challenges in modern cities.
The program was graced by eminent personalities from The Institution of Engineers (India), Ludhiana Local Centre, including Dr Arvind Dhingra, Chairman, Er. Surinder Singh, Honorary Secretary, Er. Surjit Singh, Er. Balwinder Singh, and Er. Harbhajan Singh Dosanjh, Executive Member of IEI Ludhiana. The CTIAP faculty and students warmly received them.
The ceremony commenced with the traditional lamp lighting, symbolising the spread of knowledge and enlightenment. Delivering the inaugural address, Dr. Arvind Dhingra emphasised the growing urban challenges, highlighting the need for sustainable and inclusive city planning to ensure livable environments for future generations.
The event also featured a cultural segment comprising a vibrant group dance, a soulful singing performance, and a graceful solo dance presentation by students, showcasing their creativity and enthusiasm. A panel-making Competition was organised, through which students expressed their innovative ideas on urban sustainability and environmental consciousness.
Dignitaries from IEI Ludhiana felicitated the competition winners, encouraging students to continue engaging with real-world issues through architectural innovation and design thinking.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the presence and guidance of all guests and participants. The celebration not only marked the observance of World Habitat Day but also served as a meaningful platform to discuss the pressing issue of the Urban Crisis and inspire the next generation of architects to design a sustainable future.
