Jalandhar, April 2, 2026: CT Group of Institutions organised an engaging fireside chat with Jaiveer Shergill, Supreme Court Advocate and National Spokesperson, BJP, at its campus, where students and faculty members participated in an insightful discussion on governance, youth empowerment, agriculture, education reforms, and national development.
During the interaction, Jaiveer Shergill shared his perspectives on the initiatives being undertaken by the government to strengthen the agriculture sector and support farmers across the country. He highlighted the importance of adopting modern practices, innovation, and technology to make agriculture more sustainable and productive.
Students actively engaged in the discussion and raised questions regarding unemployment and the steps being taken to create more opportunities for the youth. Shergill spoke about the growing emphasis on skill development, entrepreneurship, and the startup ecosystem, which are opening new avenues for young professionals.
The conversation also focused on reforms in the education sector. Shergill emphasized the importance of transforming the education system through interdisciplinary learning, technology integration, and stronger collaboration between academia and industry to prepare students for the demands of the future.
During the session, Shergill also shared insights from his professional journey as a legal expert and political spokesperson. Responding to a question about his transition from being a Congress spokesperson to representing the BJP, he spoke about how evolving perspectives and personal convictions often shape one’s career choices and public roles.
Students further raised questions about how youth can be given the right direction in today’s rapidly changing world. Shergill encouraged them to remain curious, stay informed, and actively participate in discussions that contribute to the progress of society.
The session was held in the presence of Political Strategist Karanbir Lally, Vice Chairman of CT Group Harpreet Singh, Dr Shiv Kumar, Director Campus, and Dr Arjan Singh, Dean of Student Welfare, along with faculty members and students from various departments.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chairman CT Group Harpreet Singh said that such interactions provide valuable exposure to students and help them understand diverse perspectives on governance, policy, and leadership. He added that fireside chats play an important role in academic environments as they create an open and interactive platform where students can directly engage with accomplished professionals, policymakers, and leaders, allowing them to gain practical insights beyond classroom learning.
The session concluded with an interactive exchange where students shared their ideas and aspirations, making the fireside chat a meaningful platform for dialogue and learning.
