CRIKC-CII exhibition in Panjab University on Nov 12

Technology Enabling Centre (TEC) of Panjab University, Chandigarh in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Chandigarh Administration is organizing CRIKC-CII exhibition in Panjab University, Chandigarh on 12th November from 10 AM to 5:30 PM in Community centre located in sector 25 campus of Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Chandigarh, November 10, 2022:  Technology Enabling Centre (TEC) of Panjab University, Chandigarh in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Chandigarh Administration is organizing CRIKC-CII exhibition in Panjab University, Chandigarh on 12th November from 10 AM to 5:30 PM in Community centre located in sector 25 campus of Panjab University, Chandigarh. Students, Teachers, Scientists and Industry are most cordially invited to visit this Exhibition. TEC is a project funded by Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India that has a mandate to create an enabling ecosystem for development of technologies in our region. This exhibition is financially supported by DST (GoI) and Chandigarh Administration. In this exhibition, academia of region will exhibit technologies that they wish to transfer to the Industry. This is for the first time that this type of R&D fair is being organized in our region wherein around 30 stalls will be put by Academia/Industry of our region. The participating institues that will exhibit their technologies include Panjab University and other institutes of Chandigarh Region Innovation and Knowledge Cluster (CRIKC) like PEC, PGIMER, IIT-Ropar, NITTTR, IMTECH, CCET, CSIR-CSIO, Chitkara University, Rayat Bahra University and  NIELIT. Also, IIT Roorkee, IIT Jammu, Jaypee University, Solan and Research Scholars / Students from Panjab University will showcase their R&D in this exhibition. Industries like Cheema Boilers Ltd., Atos Instruments Marketing Services, Diplast etc will also present their innovations in this Exhibition.

With support from CII (Punjab), Industry of the region has been invited to visit this exhibition. It is expected that, due to this exhibition some Technologies of Academia will get transferred to the Industry. The technological areas related to the exhibited technologies include Medical Devices / Surgical Equipment / Healthcare, Automation / AI / SPM / Industry 4.0, Waste Management / Effluent Treatment / Stubble Management, Agriculture and Allied Industries,  IT / Software / Web / App Development, Light Engineering (Hand Tools etc.), Biotechnology / Microbiology / Pharmaceuticals, Paper & Pulp Industry, Electroplating / Advanced Coatings, Materials and Metallurgy (Alloy, Steel, Polymers, etc.)/ Metals and Mining, Consumer Durable, Chemicals, Clean Energy / Renewable Energy / Energy Storage, Food and Beverages, Auto Components/ Automobiles and Textiles / Garments Design.

On the sidelines of this exhibition, focused group meetings of Interface clubs have been scheduled. Concept of Interface Clubs is brainchild of present Vice-Chairman of CII (Punjab), Dr P J Singh who is also owner of Tynor Orthotics Private limited. A typical Interface club is led by an Interface Champion who is an Industrialist and Interface clubs have members from Academia as well as Industry. Members of Interface clubs (Engineering, Medical, Software etc) will meet on sidelines of the Exhibition. In Interface club meetings, people from Industry will share exact issues on which they want innovation to be done by Academia.

As a result of these focused group meetings of Interface clubs, it is expected that in due course of time Academia will be able to fetch consultancy projects from Industry. There will be round-table meeting of Industry with Professor N S Vyas (IIT-Kanpur) so as to collectively conceive a concrete plan for implementation of Industry 4.0 in our region. The Fourth Industrial Revolution, 4IR, or Industry 4.0, conceptualizes rapid change to technology, industries, and societal patterns and processes in the 21st century due to increasing interconnectivity and smart automation. IIT Kanpur has successfully developed an indigenous platform for implementation of Industry 4.0, through a Rail Coach Manufacturing project supported by the DST, Ministry of Science and Technology. Auto Industry of region v.i.z Mahindra Swaraj, Preet Tractors, Indofarm Tractors, SML-ISUZU, Sonalika Tractors, Claas combines etc will disucss their issues related to Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) with Professor N S Vyas (IIT-Kanpur).
