Cost Effective Up Gradation Of Electroplating interaction Conducted by team of Scientists from CSIR-CECRI, Karaikudi

Ludhiana, October 1, 2016: CICU & LETS Organised interaction between Chief Guest - Manpreet Singh Chatwal, Chairman PPCB & Guest of Honor - Dr.Vijaymohanan K Pillai, Director CECRI-CECRI, at Park Plaza Ludhiana. The objective of the meeting was to excel the electroplating process.

Sh.Avtar Singh, President CICU in a statement released said that Electroplating is essential for all gadgets ranging from bicycle to aircraft but none of the institution in North India is having any curriculum about electroplating. The objective of the meeting is to create awareness among Industrialists about new inventions & improvements in electroplating.

Sh. Upkar Singh Ahuja, General Secretary CICU in a statement released said that Industrialists is passing through a very crucial time and facing competition from countries like China and others. Metal finishing plays a vital role for manufactured product in terms of Quality. The seminar organized will solve the problems and get best solutions for electroplating through experts.

Manpreet Singh Chatwal, IAS, Chairman Punjab Pollution Control said, Problems faced by the electroplating Industries can be solved with solutions provided by the scientists team for getting better solutions for treating water.

CSIR-CECRI Director Dr. Vijaymohanan K Pillai in his speech highlighted the achievement of CSIR-CECRI in the area of electroplating technology and effluent treatment. He also mentioned about the prestigious project in the electroplating process sponsored by Boeing, U.S.A.

Dr. J. Mathiyarsan has discussed about the basics of electroplating, where he has discussed about the faraday’s law of electrolysis and related calculations.

Dr. GNK Ramesh Bapu has discussed about pretreatment process and electrodedeposition of Zinc and solve the related problems of industrial participants.

The Researcher pretreatment process and electroplating of zinc and solve the related problems of industrial participants simultaneously, Two members from Pollution Control Board team of Punjab has shared their problems to team of Scientist and in this regard the team has given some of the immediate solutions to them.

Dr. S Mohan has discussed about the nickel plating and related issue, he has also given some of the readymade solutions and precautions to industrial participants.

Dr, Shailendra K Jha has discussed about the recent advances of electroplating and allied techniques and help the participants to learn the techniques in their local language.

Dr. P Veeramani has discussed about how how to test the deposits and waste water treatment. He has solved the several issue raised by Pollution Control Board and some of the electroplating unit members. He has also discussed about the recovery of heavy metals from the waste water.

CICU organized this one day workshop Program in association with CSIR Central Electrochemical Research Institute, Karaikudi, Council by Scientifically Industrial Research, New Delhi, Society for advancement in Electrochemical Science and Technology, Karaikudi and Ludhiana Effluent Treatment Society (LETS) for the benefit of MSMEs and Entrepreneurs on Cost Effective UpGradation Of Electroplating Technology & Practices. Finally the participants has raised several problems which they are facing day to day basis and during panel discussions the team of scientist tried to give immediate solutions to them and some of specific problems will be solved during course of time.it was attended by approx. 100 participants and got benefitted.
