CONGRESS RELEASES LIST OF REMAINING 44 CANDIDATES FOR LUDHIANA MC POLLS

Chandigarh, February 10, 2018: The Congress on Saturday released the second and final list of its candidates for the forthcoming Ludhiana Municipal Corporation (MC) elections. The list contains names of candidates for the remaining 44 of the 95 seats for which polls are scheduled to be held on February 24, a spokesperson of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) said here. The party had on Friday released the names of 51 nominees. In choosing the candidates, the party had once again gone for winnable candidates, with a mix of experience and youth. Clean track record of the candidates had also been kept high on priority in the selection process. The selection committee had considered all the possible nominees from this yardstick, as well as the benchmark of a clean track record, the spokesperson disclosed, adding that the remaining candidates would also be declared soon.
