CM launches E-governance project of H.P.Public Service Commission

Shimla, April 10, 2017: Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh after launching the e-governance project ‘ICT Solution’ at H.P.Public Service Commission, (HPPSC) here today said that all the regions of the state should get equal representation in selection to various posts.

Emphasizing that because of disparity of education in hard and far flung areas of the state, public service commission should keep in view that the candidates from these regions too get a chance, but not at the cost of merit.

Chief Minister said that he believed that fair representation should be given to persons from all the regions in jobs. Even if the place be bordering China or Tibet, the commission should try to watch the interest of candidates from these regions too, he stressed.

“Merit should not be discouraged at any cost”, he said adding that fairness, integrity and hard work and openness should be the hall mark of any selection procedure.

He said successful implementation of e-governance project would lead to its replication in all State Public Service Commissions in India for which credit would certainly go to H.P Public Service Commission (HPPSC).

He said that HPPSC has introduced several reforms which will ensure transparency and credibility in the recruitments. The reforms are commendable, which include giving option to candidates to be interviewed either in Hindi or English. It will help candidates from rural background who are talented enough but lack communication skill in English language.

Chairman, H.P. Public Service Commission, Shri K.S. Tomar detailed about the salient features of the e-governance project and welcomed and honoured the Chief Minister. He said that the project would bring new reforms in working of commission for next 50 years.

Chairperson, Punjab PSC Lt. Gen. N.S. Hira, Chairperson Uttrakhand PSC, Prof. N.S. Bisht, Chief Secretary. Shri V.C. Pharka, Chairman Subordinate Service selection Commission, Shri Mohan Jharta Ex-Chairman and members of HPPSC were also present on the occasion amongst other.
