CM Assures Bharti Mazdoor Sangh To Resolve All Pending Issues In Timeframe

Chandigarh, October 1, 2015: Acceding to the long pending demand of the Bharti Mazdoor Sangh, the Punjab Government has decided to give due representation to the workers of organized and unorganized sector in the various State, District and Tehsil level Labour Welfare Boards. A decision to this effect was taken in a meeting with the delegation of Bharti Mazdoor Sangh chaired by Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal.
Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that another significant decision taken in the meeting was the removal of the anomalies in the minimum wages of workers of organized and unorganized sector. Mr. Badal was apprised that a worker at the time of entry into the unorganized sector get a wage of Rs. 6500 per month whereas similar worker in the organized sector get a monthly wage of Rs. 5000. The Finance Department clarified that the workers in the organized sector generally get basic wage of Rs. 5000 and they get substantial hike in wage after the completion of two years of service. The Chief Minister directed the Finance Department to examine this case so as to ensure parity in the wages paid to workers of organized and unorganized sector.   
The spokesperson further said that various other issues pertaining to employees of the Municipal Corporations, Municipal Councils and Nagar Panchayats, issues of construction workers, Mid Day Meal workers, Aaganwadi Workers and ANMs were also discussed in the meeting.
The Chief Minister assured the delegation of the Bharti Mazdoor Sangh that the state government was fully committed to the welfare of labour class and all there issues will be resolved within stipulated timeframe. The members of delegation thanked the Chief Minister for the landmark decision of the government to introduce cashless treatment schemes for the employees.
Prominent amongst others who were present in the meeting included Cabinet Minister Mr. Chunni Lal Bhagat, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Som Parkash, Political Advisor to Chief Minister Mr. Tiksan Sud, Principal Secretary Housing & Urban Development Mr. Viswajeet Khanna, Secretary Expenditure Mr. Jaspal Singh, Secretary General Administration Mr. K.A.P Sinha, Secretary Sports Mr. Vivek Partap Singh and CEO Punjab Water Supply & Sewerage Board Mr. D.K. Tiwari.
