An Industrial Interaction with Principal Secretary, Industries & Commerce,  Punjab, being organised at CICU Complex, Ludhiana on Thursday.

Ludhiana, October 15, 2015: An Industrial Interaction was held at CICU Complex, Focal Point, Ludhiana with Sh Anirudh Tiwari, Principal Secretary of Industries & Commerce Punjab, to solve the problems being faced by Ludhiana Industry.
Sh.Tiwari said that the industry and government are interlinked with the growth and prosperity. We are to create enabling environment for the existing industry to thrive and survive. He said: 
?  For ease of existing industry innovative idea for carrying out annual safety audit with five main departments viz boiler, labour, power, factory is under active consideration of State Government.
?  Common Exhibition Centre for Ludhiana industry will be set up by converting Knitwear Facility Centre Ludhiana for which modalities for transferring assets being worked out on priority basis.
?  For infrastructure development of Phase IV Focal Point Ludhiana, SPV already formed is being made operational. Accordingly all the taxes which are hitherto collected by Municipal Corporation will be collected by SPV who will be responsible for spending these funds for the development of entire area. This model will be replicated in other phases.
?   In forthcoming Industrial estates specific area will be provided for providing housing facility, hospitals & schools for the factory workers and their families.
?  Partnership Model for up-gradation of Bicycle & Auto Parts Research and Development Centre as per their objectives will be developed.
?  Specific courses for skill development particularly for textile industry will be introduced by NEFT. CETP for dyeing industry is under review.
?  For resolving issues of Mix Land Use Areas facing threat of 2018, matter will be taken up on priority basis with Commissioner Municipal Corporation Ludhiana and Chief Administrator GLADA.
?  All industrialists are requested to attend 2nd Progressive Punjab Summit to be held on 28th & 29th October, 2015. B2B Meeting with Representatives from Poland, China, Taiwan, Korea and other countries will also be arranged for expansion of technology for existing industries.
Sh. Avtar Singh, President, CICU welcomed Sh. Anirudh Tiwari IAS, Principal Secretary of Industries & Commerce Punjab, Sh. Amit Dhaka, MD PSIEC, Mahesh Khanna, GM DIC & other Dignitaries and Leading Industrialists for this Interaction. He presented memorandum to Sh. Anirudh Tiwari highlighting Providing Common Exhibition Centre for Ludhiana Industries, Amendment  in Clause Regarding Unauthorized Use of Electricity, Issue of Industries - in Mix Land Use Area and Renewal of Consent to Industries Operating Adjoining G.T. Road Highway, Ludhiana, Infrastructure Development of Focal Point Ludhiana.
Sh. Upkar Singh Ahuja, General Secretary CICU said that Brand Building and Transfer of Technology is the need of the hour for uplifting industry. There is impelling need to bridge gap between the availability of skilled manpower in Punjab. He presented memorandum to Sh. Anirudh Tiwari regarding Permanent Withdrawal of Notification for Payment of Wages to  Factory Workers by Cheque or Credit in their Bank Account, Removal of Roadside Encroachments Dotting Focal Point Ludhiana, Skill Development & Training, Expediting VAT Refund,Request For Rolling-Back ‘Hike In Road Tax’ Carrying Factory Workers/Employees, Withdrawal of Infrastructure Development Cess Imposed on Electricity Consumption, Up gradation of Bicycle and Auto Parts Research & Development Centre.
