CICU Hosts Tata Steel “Swagat Samaroh – Vendor Connect” Program; 95 Industrialists Participate
The Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertakings (CICU) organized a “Swagat Samaroh – Vendor Connect Program” with Tata Steel to strengthen industry collaboration and create new opportunities for MSMEs to become part of Tata Steel’s vendor ecosystem. The program witnessed an encouraging participation of around 95 entrepreneurs and industrialists from various sectors.
Ludhiana, March 13, 2026: The Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertakings (CICU) organized a “Swagat Samaroh – Vendor Connect Program” with Tata Steel to strengthen industry collaboration and create new opportunities for MSMEs to become part of Tata Steel’s vendor ecosystem. The program witnessed an encouraging participation of around 95 entrepreneurs and industrialists from various sectors.
During the event, Honey Sethi, General Secretary, CICU, presented a token of gratitude to Ranjan Kumar Sinha, Chief Procurement Officer (CPO), Tata Steel, in appreciation of his visit and for guiding local industries about vendor opportunities with Tata Steel.
Addressing the gathering, Upkar Singh Ahuja, President, CICU said that such initiatives play a vital role in connecting MSMEs with large corporate houses. He emphasized that vendor development programs help local industries understand the procurement systems, safety standards, and compliance requirements of large organizations like Tata Steel. He further added that Ludhiana’s manufacturing sector has strong capabilities, and with proper guidance and collaboration, many MSMEs can successfully integrate into national supply chains.
Ranjan Kumar Sinha shared valuable insights on Tata Steel’s procurement vision, vendor onboarding process, and the importance of maintaining quality, safety, and sustainability standards. The Tata Steel team also explained the vendor registration process, safety assessment requirements, CLM procedures, and procurement systems, helping industry members better understand how to work with the company.
The session was highly interactive, with participants actively engaging in discussions and seeking clarity on vendor development opportunities with Tata Steel.
Ahuja expressed gratitude to the Tata Steel team for sharing their expertise and encouraging MSMEs to participate in their vendor ecosystem. The program concluded with a Q&A session followed by networking refreshments, enabling industry members to interact further with the Tata Steel officials.
