Chandigarh Law College organised Induction Programme

The Chandigarh Law College organised Departmental Induction Programme for the freshers of batch 2023-24.The chief guest at the moment was Justice  Jagroop Singh Mahal, who retired as District and Sessions Judge. 500 students of B.A.LLB, B.Com.LLB, BBALLB and LLB attended the event. After lighting the lamp by Chief Guest  the event began with Gurbani Shabad recitation .Later , students performed  classical dances Giddha and bhangra etc. 
Mohali, September 3, 2023: The Chandigarh Law College organised Departmental Induction Programme for the freshers of batch 2023-24.The chief guest at the moment was Justice  Jagroop Singh Mahal, who retired as District and Sessions Judge. 500 students of B.A.LLB, B.Com.LLB, BBALLB and LLB attended the event. After lighting the lamp by Chief Guest  the event began with Gurbani Shabad recitation .Later , students performed  classical dances Giddha and bhangra etc.

Director of Chandigarh Law College, Prof. Tufail Ahmad Khan delivered the welcome address and also reflect upon various elements of curriculum, teaching pedagogy, examination system, mentorship and discipline. Chief Guest Mahal while encouraging the students said that only hard work can enable a person to succeed in life. He told the students about his humble background and his journey from a law student to a District and Sessions Judge. According to him, law is useful in every sphere of life and ignorance of law is no excuse to commit a crime. He also talked about the profession of Advocacy. He said only a few advocates are famous and successful due to their interest and dedication in the profession. He also discussed few cases he despatched while in service.

At the moment Moot Court was also enacted by 25 students of 2nd and 3rd year. The topic was Data Protection Bill which was argued by NGO, for infringement of Article 21 of the Constitution on one side, and on the other side Government was defending the Bill.  Students argued their case with confidence. Law Club introduced the structure of the club and invited the students to join the Club.

The event came to an end after felicitating   chief guest with memento and fulkari by President CGC Jhanjeri Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal.
