The Central University of Punjab organized Amrit Kalash Yatra under ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ Campaign on Thursday to instilling a sense of patriotism among citizens.

Bathinda, October 13, 2023: The Central University of Punjab organized Amrit Kalash Yatra under ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ Campaign on Thursday to instilling a sense of patriotism among citizens. 

The event conducted under the leadership of Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, Vice-Chancellor, CUPB, was attended by distinguished persons of Ghudda Village including Shri Karamjit Singh, Pradhan, Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee, Smt. Seema Rani, Sarpanch, Village Ghudda and local residents. Faculty, officers, staff and students of CUPB along with residents and school children Government Primary School, Village Ghudda actively participated in this event.

During this programme, the faculty, staff and students of CUPB assembled at University Main Entrance Gate. On this occasion, Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, Vice-Chancellor, administered Panch Pran Pledge to participants and inspired them to put their efforts for nourishing our mother earth and honouring country’s brave soldiers. All attendees took an oath to work towards making India self-reliant by 2047 as envisioned by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, eliminating remnants of a colonial mindset, celebrating our heritage, fostering unity, respecting those who protect the country, and fulfilling their duties as citizens. After the Oath Ceremony, participants collected maati brought by students and faculty members from nearby villages into Amrit Kalash.

Subsequently, members of CUPB fraternity and residents of Village Ghudda enthusiastically participated in Amrit Kalash Yatra, which commenced from Central University of Punjab and concluded at Government Primary School, Village Ghudda (GPS Ghudda). The teachers and students of GPS Ghudda warmly received Kalash Yatra participants. University students educated the school children about significance of this yatra and Meri Maati Mera Desh Campaign. Prof. Tiwari then handed over these Amrit Kalash to the Sarpanch of Village Ghudda for the purpose for creation of ‘Amrit Vatika’ with a view to pay homage to India’s brave heroes.

The ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ program aspires to emotionally connect every individual, family, and citizen with the idea of creating a great India. Prof. Tiwari along with other dignitaries distributed sweets to school children acknowledging their participation. Over 350 individuals attended this memorable event.
