Central University of Punjab Achieves 53rd Rank Among “Best Universities of India” in SCImago Institutions Rankings 2024

Demonstrating its commitment to serving society through science, innovation, and research, the Central University of Punjab (CU Punjab) has achieved a remarkable 53rd rank in the University category in India in the SCImago Institutions Rankings 2024 (SIR-2024).

Bathinda, May 24, 2024: Demonstrating its commitment to serving society through science, innovation, and research, the Central University of Punjab (CU Punjab) has achieved a remarkable 53rd rank in the University category in India in the SCImago Institutions Rankings 2024 (SIR-2024).

 
The SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR) is a classification of academic and research-related institutions, ranked by a composite indicator that combines three sets of metrics: research performance, innovation outputs, and societal impact measured by web visibility.
 

In SIR-2024, SCImago has evaluated more than 9,000 academic and research-related institutions worldwide based on these three indicators. In the University category, the Central University of Punjab has been ranked 53rd in India, 683rd in the Asiatic Region, and 1973rd globally.
 

CU Punjab has been accorded an impressive percentile score in Research, Innovation, and Societal parameters in India. As a result, the University achieved an overall rank of 88 among all academic and research-based institutions in India and 53rd among the best universities in India.
 

Vice Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari congratulated the CU Punjab  faculty, staff, scholars, and students for this outstanding achievement. He stated that it is a moment of pride that, in the SIR-2024 edition, CU Punjab leads among all the newly established Central Universities of India. Prof. Tiwari dedicated this success to the hard work of faculty and students and mentioned that this accomplishment would encourage the University to set new benchmarks.
