Car Free Day observed at PU

Chandigarh, September 22, 2023: Panjab University, Chandigarh today observed Car Free Day at the University Campus. On the occasion, Prof. Renu Vig, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Y.P. Verma Registrar, Panjab University Chandigarh, and other senior officials of the University used Cycle to reach their respective offices/departments/branches etc. Even, students and staff of the University also used free shuttle bus service to roam within the University. Faculty members/students were seen walking to reach their respective departments.  
 
Prof. Renu Vig, thanked all the teaching and non teaching staff, research scholars, students for their contribution in making Car Free Day a great success. She stated that this would not have been possible without the involvement of every individual. She urged all to come forward so that PU can observe Car Free Day in future too.  
 
Dr. Parveen Goyal, NSS Coordinator stated that this initiative is a step forward towards making the Campus clean and green. He further informed that six free shuttle buses have been arranged for the students to avoid any inconvenience to the visitors.
 
Earlier, Prof. Vig, made this historical announcement for observation of Car Free Day on last Friday of every month on the occasion of Cycle Rally conducted by National Service Scheme, PU on September 12,
