Businessman burnt alive in car fire

New Delhi, May 8 (IANS) A 30-year-old businessman was burnt alive when the car he was driving suddenly caught fire here, police said Thursday.

Anil Moga's car caught fire at the outer Ring Road in Mangolpuri area of north Delhi around 10.30 p.m. Wednesday.

"Last night, Moga left his house in his car. When he reached near Mangolpuri, his car suddenly caught fire. The blaze spread so quickly that he could not escape," said a police official.

By the time fire tenders arrived at the spot and doused the fire, Moga had sustained grievous burns. He was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead, said the official.

"The car might have caught fire either due to some short circuit in its wiring or it may have started from the engine. We are investigating the issue," the official said.

Moga had a shop of wholesale gift items at Sadar Bazar in central Delhi and lived with his family in Pitampura in north Delhi.
