Three years rigorous imprisonment to then deputy manager of SBI in disproportionate assets case

New Delhi/Jalandhar, December 31, 2013: The Special Judge, CBI cases, Jabalpur has convicted Balmiki Prasad Dwivedi, the then Deputy Manager, State Bank of India, Hanumana Branch, District Rewa (M.P.) U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(e) of PC Act 1988 and sentenced him to undergo three years Rigorous Imprisonment with a fine of Rs.1,00,000 and also confiscate an amount of Rs. 40,61,342 which has been found disproportionate assets in the name of accused.
CBI filed charge sheet before the Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Jabalpur on June 25, 2010  U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(e) of PC Act. 1988 , alleging therein that Balmiki Prasad Dwiedi between the period January 1, 2001 and June 9, 2009, while functioning as a public servant in the capacities of Systems Administrator, Field Officer, Manager (Personal Banking division) and Dy. Manager at State Bank of India at Sidhi, Ambikapur and Hanumana Branch, was found in possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income in his name and in the names of his family members to the extent of about Rs. 62,58,324.
The Trial Court found the accused guilty and convicted him.
