Rohtak/Gohana, August 17, 2026: Teachers and employees of Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya (BPSMV), Khanpur, have mobilised over irregular salary payments and outstanding dues for the past two years. A large number of teachers and employees gathered at the administrative block on Monday under the banner of the teachers’ association and submitted a memorandum to Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sudesh, seeking an early resolution of the issue.
The teachers alleged that salaries had not been paid regularly for the past two years. Despite repeated assurances from the university administration that payments would be made on time, the problem remained unresolved. They also alleged that no concrete steps had been taken to address the reasons behind the delays or clear the pending dues.
Those who submitted the memorandum included Prof. Ashok, Prof. Sanket Vij, Prof. Shweta Singh, Prof. Sandeep, Prof. Suman, Prof. Ishani, Dr. Seema, Dr. Pankaj Mishra and Dr. Ashish, besides other members of the teachers’ association and a large number of employees.
The association said the university’s grant-related financial constraints could not justify prolonged salary delays and demanded effective measures to ensure timely payment of salaries. It said the continued delay had caused serious financial difficulties for employees.
Teachers relinquish additional duties
Following repeated representations and requests that failed to resolve the issue, teachers have relinquished all additional duties with immediate effect. The teachers’ association warned that if the salary issue was not resolved soon, it would launch an agitation and approach the court.
The association also urged the state government to release the university’s pending grants at the earliest and ensure a permanent solution to the salary crisis. It termed the failure to ensure regular salary payments even after two years a serious lapse on the part of the university administration.
