MDU Journalism Department Freshers Take Anti-Ragging Pledge
An orientation and interaction session was organised for newly admitted students for the academic session 2026-27of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at MDU. During the session, the students took an anti-ragging pledge and resolved to keep the university campus free from ragging.
Rohtak, August 17, 2026: An orientation and interaction session was organised for newly admitted students for the academic session 2026-27of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at MDU. During the session, the students took an anti-ragging pledge and resolved to keep the university campus free from ragging.
The students were sensitised to the adverse consequences of ragging and the university’s zero-tolerance policy. They pledged neither to indulge in ragging nor to encourage or instigate anyone else to do so. They also resolved to report any incident of ragging to the concerned authorities. An anti-ragging slogan competition was also organised, in which students participated enthusiastically.
Department faculty members Dr Bainul Tomar, Sunit Mukherjee, Prof Harish Kumar and Dr Naveen Kumar interacted with the students and stressed the importance of discipline, mutual respect and a healthy academic environment.
During the orientation, students were briefed about the MA Journalism and Mass Communication programme, syllabus, departmental activities and career opportunities in the media sector. The newly admitted students also introduced themselves and shared their interests and expectations.
