Chandigarh, July 2, 2025: Panjab University (PU)’s 2025 Biophysics Summer Training Program concluded today at the Department of Biophysics with a valedictory function, where PU Registrar Prof. Yajvender Pal Verma awarded certificates to the participants.
Prof. Verma commended the students and encouraged them to pursue careers in scientific research and engineering.
The four-week intensive program, organised by the Department of Biophysics, was aimed at equipping participants with practical skills and advanced knowledge in the interdisciplinary domain of biophysics. Twenty-five students from diverse academic backgrounds received hands-on training in a wide array of biophysical techniques.
The training modules included laboratory animal handling, neurobehavioral analysis, chromatographic methods, biospectroscopy, tissue processing and histopathology, electrophysiology, in silico drug design, bioinformatics, molecular biology techniques, bacterial transformations, and transcription assays.
Chairperson of the Department, Dr. Tanzeer Kaur, informed that the program’s primary objective was to disseminate knowledge and inspire undergraduate and postgraduate students to consider careers in science and engineering, especially in the field of biophysics.
