Ferozepur, September 28, 2015: On the occasion of his 108th birthday of Shahid-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, Ferozepur residents showed their zeal and love the great one. Several events were organized to pay homage to Bhagat Singh and several people from not only Ferozepur but from all over India, reached at the Samadhi of Bhagat Singh and his companions Rajguru, Sukhdev and B.K.Dutt.
Early in the morning, the Paddler’s Club which is successfully creating awareness about cycling among youth of this border region, organized a huge rally in which students, staff of DCM Sr.Sec.School, DCM International School, Sai Public School, Manav Mandir Sr.Sec. School, Govt. Sr. Sec. School for Boys participated. Besides several dignitaries from Army, police, BSF and civilians also joined the Cycle Rally which started from local Mohan Lal Bhaskar Chowk to Hussainiwala Memorial, covering more than 30 kilometers of distance. Hardyal Singh Mann, SSP, Ferozpeur flagged off the rally and said that adopting the ideology of Bhagat Singh will be the best tribute to the martyr.
Members of Bhagat Singh Rajguru and Sukhdev Society also held a Bike Rally in which hundreds of youths led by society President Jaswinder Singh Sandhu , wearing identical saffron Bhagat Singh Turbon, reached Hussainiwala and paid homage to the martyr. The rally crossed through the main bazaars of Ferozepur Cantt and City to finally reach at Hussainiwala Memorial. The rally was flagged off by Sandip Singh Garha, SDM, Ferozepur and Ketan Patil, SP (H), Ferozepur.
Jaswinder Singh, Society President said that through this rally they want to aware people about the prime sacrifices made by Bhagat Singh in such young age. He said that the nation will never forget Bhagat Singh’ s contribution in obtaining the independence.
