Manpreet Kaur, a Ph.D. student of the Department of Biochemistry, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), working under Dr Surekha Bhatia in the Department of Processing and Food Engineering, has been selected for SERB-Travel Grant to participate in "The 6th International EcoSummit Congress EcoSummit-2023" which is scheduled to be held at Gold Coast Convention Center, Gold Coast, Australia from June 13-17, 2023.

Ludhiana, June 7, 2023: Manpreet Kaur, a Ph.D. student of the Department of Biochemistry, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), working under Dr Surekha Bhatia in the Department of Processing and Food Engineering, has been selected for SERB-Travel Grant to participate in "The 6th International EcoSummit Congress EcoSummit-2023" which is scheduled to be held at Gold Coast Convention Center, Gold Coast, Australia from June 13-17, 2023. She will present a poster entitled, 'An exploration of euryhaline microalgal species as an innovative source of high-value bioactive metabolites'. The SERB Travel Grant will provide to and fro economic class airfare by the shortest route, airport tax, visa, and registration fee. Kaur is pursuing Ph.D. under Prime Minister Research Fellowship on the topic 'Biochemical Characterization of Euryhaline Microalgal Strains for Bioactive metabolites' in collaboration with the nutraceutical industry, Chemical Resources, Panchkula, Haryana, India.

Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU and Dr Manjeet Kaur Sangha, Principal Biochemist-cum-Head, Department of Biochemistry, congratulated the student for this achievement and wished her all success in her future endeavours.
