New Delhi, July 28, 2022: When the going gets tough, the tough get going. As the Class 10 and 12 Results of CBSE Board Exams were declared recently, several students of Apeejay Schools spread across the country proved this dictum right.

It is a story of grit and determination in face of adversity for Manya Panwar, Class 10 Humanities topper from Apeejay School Panchsheel Park, New Delhi, who scored 97.2%. Her father passed away a few years ago. Though it was a huge setback for the family, Manya was determined to do well academically and she did exactly that in her CBSE Board Exams.

“I have never taken private tuition. Self-study helped me to be in control of when and what I wanted to study. I could approach topics at my own pace. My mother and elder sister supported and motivated me throughout,” said Manya.

Pihu, a Class 12 Commerce topper from Apeejay School, Rama Mandi Jalandhar, who scored 96% in the CBSE Boards is one more braveheart. She appeared for the CBSE Class 12 Board examinations while her father underwent a medical emergency.

“It was just before my Economics Exam, my father suffered a heart attack. It was completely unprecedented. I was mentally broken and could not stop crying. It took a lot for me to even sit for the examinations. The whole time, only one thing stuck by me: a promise made to my father to make him proud. He spent about a week in the hospital. But, my mother and family stood like a pillar of support for me during that time,” reflects Pihu.

Girisha S Gavand of Apeejay School Nerul, is one of the second-rank holders in the school, in the Class 10 CBSE Board Results declared recently. Girisha secured 99.2% while scoring 99 out of 100 in all subjects and a perfect 100 in Sanskrit in her CBSE Exam.

For Girisha, it was not just the change in the exam pattern that she wonderfully handled. Displaying courage, she stood brave as her mother was going through treatment for cancer during the same time when Girisha was preparing for her board exams.

“Even though my mother was undergoing cancer treatment, my parents did not let me realise that it was not a conducive environment for us. They were constantly encouraging me to give my best,” said Girisha. Sharing what kept her motivated throughout this phase, she said, “It was the zeal to perform and score extraordinary marks.”
