Annual Award Function – “A World of Books”

Jalandhar, December 9, 2025: DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur, celebrated its Annual Award Function on 8th December 2025 with the enchanting theme “A World of Books.”

In an age where technology is slowly replacing the charm of books and reading habits are gradually fading among the younger generation, this theme was thoughtfully chosen to rekindle the love for reading and inspire students to embrace books as their lifelong companions.

The function was graced by the distinguished presence of Chief Guest, Justice N. K. Sud, Vice President, DAV CMC, New Delhi; Guest of Honour, Jaskiran Harika, Manager of the School; and the esteemed Vice Chairperson, Reeta Vadhera. The school also had the honour of welcoming Special Guests,  M. L. Aeri, former Director, DAV CMC, New Delhi and Aman Saini, SHO Phillaur.

The ceremony commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, accompanied by DAV Gaan and Saraswati Vandana, invoking divine blessings.

Principal Dr. Yogesh Gambhir accompanied by DAV Ambassador Divya Ahuja and Sports Captain Prince presented the Annual Report, highlighting the school’s remarkable achievements in academics, co-scholastic excellence, sports and various national-level ventures. 

The prize distribution ceremony honoured meritorious students for their outstanding accomplishments throughout the year, filling the school community with immense pride.

The highlight of the celebration was the thematic presentation “A World of Books,” which beautifully illustrated how books transport readers across eras, cultures, and worlds—nurturing imagination, strengthening values, and shaping thoughtful minds. It served as a powerful reminder that the magic of reading remains irreplaceable, even in a technology-driven era.

The event was further enriched by the delightful performances of the little ones, who brought the literary theme alive with their innocence, creativity, and charm. 

On this auspicious occasion, the school also proudly released the School Newsletter 2024–25, showcasing the year’s milestones, creative achievements, and institutional progress.

The celebration concluded with a vibrant Bhangra performance, filling the atmosphere with energy and enthusiasm.
The School Prefect Ansh Narang delivered the Vote of Thanks on behalf of the School Management, expressing heartfelt gratitude to the esteemed guests, dignitaries, staff, parents , media persons and students for making the event a grand success.
