Gurugram, November 11, 2025: In a powerful affirmation of its transformative vision for an equitable society, Dharav High School Gurugram inaugurated Shiksha Kendra, a dedicated learning centre on its campus that brings high-quality education to children from underprivileged backgrounds. Timed poignantly a day before National Education Day on November 11, an occasion that celebrates education as the bedrock of national progress, equal opportunity, and youth empowerment, the Shiksha Kendra embodies these very ideals.

The significant launch event, which included Director Aditi Misra, Principal Ritu Jawa, educators from Dharav High School (DHS) and Delhi Public School International (DPSI), students and their families, as well as leaders from the local community, was a celebration of the school’s continued commitment to inclusive, value-based learning. By offering structured, joyful, and holistic education to those who are often left behind, the initiative fits perfectly with the national push for accessible, foundational learning that fuels social and economic progress.

The Shiksha Kendra initiative, backed by RJ Corp, began at DPS 45 Gurgaon with just 50 students. It later expanded to DPS Jaipur (which transitioned to Dharav High School in February 2025). Over the years, the programme has educated more than 25,000 underprivileged children, many of whom have gone on to pursue higher education in various reputed institutions. A few students who demonstrated extraordinary calibre were integrated into the mainstream school with full fee waivers. Every year, approximately 6,000 children across all campuses benefit from the programme.

At Dharav High School Gurugram, the newly inaugurated Shiksha Kendra currently has 30 already-enrolled children and features a well-designed curriculum that promotes literacy, critical thinking, creativity, and confidence. Although the engaging lessons will be taught by dedicated teachers, senior DHS students will mentor the children, fostering empathy, leadership, and social responsibility in each and every student. Selected students will also be provided sponsorship for studies abroad and all the opportunities which go along with the global community.

“Shiksha Kendra stands as a symbol of learning with purpose; education that empowers and uplifts," remarked Chairperson Devyani Jaipuria. "With academic rigor blended with compassion and community participation, we are not merely teaching subjects but shaping citizens who will uplift families, neighbourhoods, and the nation.”

Parents, authorities, celebrated the concept, calling it an example of progressive education that transcends the borders of schools to foster the potential of each child for the purposes of building an inclusive society. The timing of the launch fortuitously, one day before National Education Day, further strengthens the national message: quality learning for all, is not a privilege, but a collective responsibility.

With Shiksha Kendra now operational at the campus of Dharav High School Gurugram, the school invites continued community collaboration to expand its reach, ensuring that the light of knowledge illuminates every corner of society.
