Rohtak, February 23, 2026: In order to ensure academic discipline and quality at MDU, Vice Chancellor Prof. Somnath Sachdeva conducted a surprise inspection of several departments. During the inspection, teachers' rooms were found closed in some departments, while student attendance was relatively low in several classrooms. The Vice Chancellor issued guidelines for conducting regular classes and ensuring student attendance. Dean, Academic Affairs Prof. S.C. Malik was also present.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Somnath Sachdeva inspected ongoing classes in various departments and reviewed the teaching system, attendance registers, and timetables. Where deficiencies were found, immediate explanations were sought from the respective department heads. The Vice Chancellor said unequivocally that the university's reputation depends on regular, punctual, and quality teaching. He emphasized that regular attendance in class by both teachers and students is mandatory, and any negligence in this regard will not be tolerated.

During the inspection, the Vice Chancellor directly interacted with students, inquiring about their academic problems, curriculum progress, and infrastructure, and assured them that the administration would take steps to address their concerns on a priority basis. Describing discipline, transparency, and accountability as paramount, the Vice Chancellor indicated that surprise inspections would continue in the future to ensure continuous improvement in the educational system.
