ADHAR CARD to provide direct benefit of Centre government schemes to people: Dewan

Ludhiana, January 29, 2013: District Congress Committee (Urban) Pawan Dewan has said the Centre’s scheme of preparing Adhar Card of every citizen across the country, will provide direct benefit of the Union Government schemes to people and this identity card (I-Card) as compared to several other I-cards will also give a unique identity to them.

Dewan was taking review after inaugurating a camp held for preparing Adhar Card at Shree Sanatan Dharam Community Centre, New Model Town, Ludhiana on Tuesday.

He said Adhar Card would let people to get rid of problem of getting prepared several other kinds of I-cards, adding at the same time, it would enable them to get direct benefits under various schemes of the Union Government.

Dewan said the target of the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre was to bring development and people were the main basis of the same. He said this Adhar Card will provide rights of people – the main basis for development, into their hands directly without any difficulty. He said people were enthused to get prepare their Adhar cards.

The DCC (U) president asked the state government to perform its duty properly for getting implemented the Centre government run public welfare schemes in Punjab.

Among others, the district general secretary Inderjit Kapur Tony, BCC president Baljinder Bunty, Narinder Bajaj, Ashwani Sharma, Kishori Lal Bahl, Tilak Raj Kaushal, Subhash and Kamlesh Shastri were present.
