AAP-LIP get more votes than Congress and SAD-BJP in Ludhiana Zone: Shankar

Ludhiana, March 12, 2017: Aam Aadmi Party Ludhiana Zone Observer Darshan Singh Shankar claimed that as per the details of the results in Ludhiana Zone comprising of Ludhiana North, Ludhiana South, Ludhiana East, Ludhiana West, Ludhiana Central, Atam Nagar, Gill and Jagraon constituencies, AAP-LIP alliance got more votes than old established Congress and SAD-BJP combine parties, though it won four seats out of nine. He elaborated that in Ludhiana Zone AAP-LIP fetched total 404009 votes, where as Congress got 394061 and SAD-BJP remained at 298273 votes.

Mr. Shankar extended thanks to the volunteers of Party and voters of Ludhiana Zone for supporting and voting in large numbers in favour of all the nine candidates of AAP-LIP alliance and appreciated the excellent work of volunteers during electioneering. He asserted that AAP-LIP alliance had also created a history by not consuming or distributing Wine, Intoxicants and any kind of allurement in shape of cash or kind during entire electioneering among the voters. He also claimed that making its debue in Vidhan Sabha elections, the Alliance had captured the status of main opposition party in Vidhan Sabha leaving behind old established SAD-BP combine.

He told the volunteers not to get disappointed for failing to achieve the desired target of forming government in Punjab and exhorted them to put in more energies to further strengthen the Party by expanding its base among the people, so that the dream of carving out corruption and drug free flourishing Punjab could be fulfilled. He also thanked the NRI Punjabis who had supported the party in a big way in the elections and assured them that the party will make all out efforts to get the problems of people settled from the government.
