7 renowned academicians attend 12th Academic council meeting at KMV

Jalandhar, July 25, 2026: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) successfully held its 12th Academic Council meeting under the chairpersonship of Director Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi. 
The meeting brought together an esteemed panel of renowned academic experts and institutional leaders, including Dr. Umesh Kumar, Scientist G, Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi; Dr. Nikhil Kumar, Education Officer, University Grants Commission, New Delhi; Dr. Sudhir Kumar, Professor, School of Sanskrit and Indic Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi; Dr. Vasudha Sambyal, Professor, Department of Human Genetics, Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), Amritsar; Dr. Vandana Bhalla, Professor, Department of Chemistry, GNDU, Amritsar; Dr. Satnam Singh Deol, Professor, Department of Political Science, GNDU, Amritsar; Dr. Neeraj Sharma, Professor and Head, Department of Sanskrit, Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur, Rajasthan; alongside Deans and Heads of Departments from KMV. 
In her address, Director Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi highlighted KMV’s continuous progress in academic innovation and excellence, particularly its effective implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which is shaping a globally benchmarked, research-driven, and innovation-oriented academic environment. With a rich legacy spanning over a century, KMV has long been recognised as a pioneer in women’s education and a torchbearer of academic empowerment in North India. The Academic Council members wholeheartedly commended KMV’s dynamic academic growth under autonomous status. 
During the deliberations, special emphasis was placed on Artificial Intelligence (AI) integration across various disciplines, alongside regular syllabi upgradation, the introduction of new value-added courses, and the implementation of student-friendly examination reforms designed to foster a flexible and modern evaluation system. The members appreciated KMV’s exchange program with Rutgers University, USA and extensive academic offerings—encompassing 24 undergraduate, 20 postgraduate, 2 undergraduate diploma, 3 postgraduate diploma programs, and 22 certificate courses. 
In her concluding remarks, Director Prof. (Dr.) Dwivedi expressed her sincere gratitude to all Academic Council members for their unwavering support, commitment and valuable contributions toward steering KMV’s academic excellence and national leadership in higher education.
