170 Students Conferred Degrees at UIPS 9th Pharmaceutical Sciences Convocation

About 170 Panjab University’s University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS) graduating students of B. Pharmacy and M. Pharmacy received their degrees at the 9th Pharmaceutical Sciences Convocation organised at PU Law Auditorium, today.

Chandigarh May 2, 2025: About 170 Panjab University’s University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS) graduating students of B. Pharmacy and M. Pharmacy received their degrees at the 9th Pharmaceutical Sciences Convocation organised at PU Law Auditorium, today. 

Delivering the convocation address, Director, NIPER Mohali, Professor Dulal Panda motivated the students to march forward in the profession with utmost sincerity and brighter innovative ideas.  He encouraged them to initiate new start-ups.

 PU Director, Research and Development Centre (RDC), Professor Meenakshi Goyal called upon the graduating students to carry forward the legacy of UIPS with commitment and excellence. She motivated them to set high aspirations and work relentlessly to realise them, as they are the architects of India’s future.

Earlier, the event began with the Panjab University anthem, followed by a short presentation on the illustrious 81-year journey of UIPS, which traces its origin to Lahore in 1944. The Chairperson of UIPS, Professor Anil Kumar, welcomed the guests and inspired the graduates to cultivate courage, kindness, and the value of time as guiding virtues in their lives.

The Pharmacist’s Oath for Code of Pharmaceutical Ethics was administered by Professor Kanwaljit Chopra, Dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences. 

Rubal Arora, valedictorian from M.Pharm. (2024), delivered a heartfelt address reflecting on the nurturing environment of UIPS that shaped her personal and professional journey.

The event concluded with the rendition of the National Anthem, marking the close of a proud and celebratory occasion for the institute.
