10�arness relief hike for Punjab pensioners/family pensioners

Chandigarh, May 21, 2014: The Punjab Government announced the 10 percent hike in Dearness Relief payable to the state government pensioners/family pensioners/extraordinary pensioners etc. due from January 1, 2014 and it would be paid from December 1 2014 onwards increasing it rate from existing 90% to 100% of the basic pension.
Disclosing this here today, a spokesman of the Punjab Government said that the decision about the arrears of Dearness Relief for the period from 1.1.2014 to 30.11.2014 would be taken in due course.
He further said that the pending arrears of 10% DA from 1.7.13 to 31.1.14 would be paid cash after 15.8.2014 by crediting the same in the respective bank accounts of the concerned Pensioners/Family Pensioners.  
He informed that other provisions governing grant of Dearness Relief to Pensioners etc. such as regulation of Dearness Relief employment/re-employment and regulation of Dearness Relief where more than one pension is drawn etc. would remain unchanged.
