“Your Capital – Your Right” Awareness Camp organized in Kapurthala for expeditious settlement of Unclaimed Assets

Today, under the leadership of the State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC) Punjab, a mega awareness camp was organized in Kapurthala district, Ramkishor Meena, Deputy General Manager, Punjab National Bank, informed that the Lead District Manager coordinated with all financial institutions to organize this large-scale camp as per the guidelines of the Government of India and the Reserve Bank of India.

Kapurthala, October 16, 2025: Today, under the leadership of the State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC) Punjab, a mega awareness camp was organized in Kapurthala district, Ramkishor Meena, Deputy General Manager, Punjab National Bank, informed that the Lead District Manager coordinated with all financial institutions to organize this large-scale camp as per the guidelines of the Government of India and the Reserve Bank of India.

Senior officials from banks, insurance, pension, and mutual fund departments participated in the event. Meena explained that if a bank deposit remains unclaimed for 10 years, the amount is transferred to the Reserve Bank of India. The camp provided detailed information on how individuals can claim their unclaimed bank deposits, mutual funds, and insurance amounts.

Such awareness camps are being organized across all states to ensure that the unclaimed deposits are returned to their rightful owners, nominees, or legal heirs. The Ministry of Finance has launched the “Your Capital – Your Right” awareness campaign, which will run from 1st October 2025 to 31st December 2025. In the coming days, similar awareness camps will be held in every district.

For more information, citizens can visit the RBI’s UDGAM Portal or contact their nearest bank branch. During the event, detailed information about social security schemes was also shared, and participants were advised to update their PAN, Aadhaar, and mobile numbers in their bank accounts. Tips on preventing cyber fraud were also provided.
