Hyderabad, October 8, 2017: India’s fifth and Telugu States first Young SKAL Club of Hyderabad launched here on Sunday at the 3rd Day of the 78th SKAL World Congress.

39 students of two cities well known hotel management institute—International Institute of Hotel Management and Institute of Hotel Management have become first members of the newly formed Young SKAL Club of Hyderabad.

Susanna Saari, Newly Elected SKAL International President graced the launch function held at HICC.

The club of was launched at the Young SKAL Forum. Venkat Reddy, a Senior Member of SKAL Chennai, who is also General Manager of Ambassador Hotel; Sejoe Jose, President of SKAL Kerala who also runs an Inbound Tourism Operation and Sushil Dwarakanath, Past President of SKAL , Bangalore were guest and gave insights of the Young SKAL to the newly became members.

With New Club at Hyderabad, India has 5 clubs now with 1000 members. Susanna Saari, Newly Elected SKAL World President said that they will take Hyderabad as an example to induct more young members into SKAL fold.

Networking is more important. You need more visiting cards in your purse than the money in it to grow in your career. Newtworking the key for your career growth. You need to be industry ready, stay relevant for the industry to be picked up for the job. Tourism is the fast growing industry, especially in India. 8.3 million Foreign tourists visit India annually. But, just a museum in Paris attracts 22mn foreign tourists annually. Indian Tourism has excellent growth opportunity Sejoe Jose who addressed the Young SKAL Club of Hyderabad members. In 2014, the Louvre Museum in London continued to be the most visited museum in the world. Nearly 9.3 million people visit this museum. This number is more than the total India receives foreign tourists.

Today the fastest automation is happening in Hospitality industry and the industry needs young who are good in computing and IT skills, informed Sanchari Choudhury, Director of Intl Institute of Hotel Management.

The Objectives of Young Skål are: to develop friendship and common purpose between the students by making them to participate in the areas related to the tourism industry to help encourage them and assist in the tourism education or experience of the members by participating in Skål activities and meeting Skål members. To acquire professional experience by interacting with SKAL members, network, stay relevant and get job ready informed Valmiki Harikrishna, member of Hyderabad SKAL.

Skål International cares about young professionals and students in tourism. In 1999, Young Skål was set up with the aim of creating a greater awareness of Skål International by those young people studying for or training in the various sectors of the travel and tourism industry, he added.

Young people are bringing to Skål their innovative power and they will benefit from the experience of the active members who may become prospective employers.
