World Heritage Day Celebration

Chandigarh, April 18, 2024: The Department of Library and Information Science at Panjab University, Chandigarh, celebrated World Heritage Day on Thursday. 

This event, observed on April 18th every year, aims to raise awareness about the importance of conserving our heritage sites. This year, the theme of the event is “Discover and Experience Diversity.” Chanchal, student of B. Lib. I. Sc., commenced the event by introducing the theme. 

Prof. Rupak Chakravarty, Chairperson, shared valuable insights on the theme and highlighted the ongoing heritage conservation efforts across the country. Faculty members engaged in a positive interaction with the students, expressing their thoughts on the theme's significance. Students also actively participated by sharing their understanding experiences and views on the relevance of World Heritage Day. 

Priya, student of B. Lib. I. Sc., provided a historical overview of the day and briefed about various heritage sites in the country.
