University Institute of Applied Management Sciences, Panjab University (UIAMS), held a workshop titled "She Thrives: A Workshop on Women's Health & Wellness" to celebrate International Women's Day.

Chandigarh, March 5, 2024: University Institute of Applied Management Sciences, Panjab University (UIAMS), held a workshop titled "She Thrives: A Workshop on Women's Health & Wellness" to celebrate International Women's Day. 

This workshop had been specifically designed to empower women in all aspects of their lives. It aimed to provide them with the necessary knowledge, tools, and inspiration to prioritize their health and well-being so that women can lead fulfilling, vibrant, and successful lives. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr Rupinder Kaur, CMO at Bhai Ghanaiya Ji Institute of Health, Punjab University, who was also the event's Chief Guest. Before the expert sessions, a pre-workshop activity was conducted by Dr Manjushri Sharma to assess the Health Literacy levels of all the participants. The expert speakers at the workshop included Dr Shweta Prabhakar, Head of Quality and Patient Safety at Fortis Hospital, Mohali, and Dr Pallavi Bansal, a Gynaecologist and the founder of Duuet. The speakers covered topics related to women’s health, education and awareness, self-care practices, mental health, and women’s health.

During her discussion, Dr Shweta emphasized the need for women to focus on their mental, physical, and emotional well-being in addition to their professional growth. She also highlighted the importance of holistic development for women and leadership roles to prepare themselves for future challenges. Dr Pallavi highlighted the crucial role of healthy habits in maintaining female health, including regular check-ups, a balanced diet, physical activity, and stress management. By making healthy choices, women can reduce their risk of developing various health conditions and improve their overall well-being.

A warm welcome was extended to the Chief Guest and expert speakers by Prof. Monika Aggarwal, Director, UIAMS, Panjab University. She expressed the significance of the occasion and thanked the esteemed speakers for their presence. The female faculty members and the students of UIAMS attended the seminar. Dr Manjushri Sharma and Dr Rachita Sambyal were the faculty organizers of the Seminar. At the conclusion of the workshop, Dr Rachita Sambyal expressed gratitude and delivered a vote of thanks. The session was interactive, and participants were encouraged to share their thoughts and ideas with the speakers. The participants left feeling motivated, empowered, and equipped to lead healthier and happier lives.
