Beginning of 10 days Punjabi folk dance camp at Lyallpur Khalsa College
Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar is known for its academics as well as sports, Bhangra and cultural activities. In this regard, a 10-day Punjabi Folk Dance Bhangra Training Camp was inaugurated on Thursday at the Open Air Theatre of the college.

Jalandhar, July 11, 2025: Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar is known for its academics as well as sports, Bhangra and cultural activities. In this regard, a 10-day Punjabi Folk Dance Bhangra Training Camp was inaugurated on Thursday at the Open Air Theatre of the college.
Dr. Sushma Chawla, (Chawla Nursing Home, Jalandhar) attended the inaugural ceremony of this folk dance camp as the chief guest and was welcomed by Principal Dr. Suman Chopra, Vice-Principal Dr. Navdeep Kaur, Dr. Palwinder Singh, Dean Cultural Affairs and the Management Committee with a bouquet of flowers.
Principal Dr. Suman Chopra, in her message, while explaining the purpose of the camp, said that Lyallpur Khalsa College is continuously working for the flourishing of Bhangra. Such initiatives not only connect the students with their culture, but also make a valuable contribution in enhancing their personality. She added that Lyallpur Khalsa College is a leading institution in preserving the heritage of Punjab's folk dance Bhangra and taking it to the world level.
Chief guest Dr. Sushma Chawla said that such camps connect the youth and children with their heritage and also motivate them to stay healthy. To encourage the participants, the chief guest also gave a dance performance. On this occasion, the in-charge of Bhangra Training Camp and Dean Cultural Affairs
Dr. Palwinder Singh Bolina said that the registration of the camp was done online and offline and more than 400 students are participating in this camp.
On this occasion, the old students of Bhangra and all the staff of Bhangra cut a cake and paid homage to the Gurus on the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima.
Special and differently abled students of Chanan Vocational College also participated in this camp and learned the rhythms of Bhangra. Prof. Satpal Singh played the role of stage manager.
Apart from the above, Dr. Simranjeet Singh Bains, Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Anand, Dr. Arun Dev Sharma, Prof. Sukhdev Sagar, Dr. Anu Kumari, Dr. Pooja Rana, Dr. Dinkar Sharma, Dr. Harjinder Singh Sekhon, Dr. Ajitpal Singh, Prof. Manish Goyal, Dr. Surbjit Singh, Dr. Priyank Sharda, Prof. Onkar, Prof. Jasdeep Singh, Dr. Harjinder Kaur, Prof. Navneet Kaur, Dr. Ravneet Kaur, Prof. Nitika Chugh, Prof. Sonu Gupta, Prof. Rakhi Talwar, Prof. Sandeep Cheema and students of the college's Bhangra and Giddha teams were also present on the occasion.
